Cnidium

Latin Name: Cnidium monnieri

The effects of Cnidium are more effective over time. Cnidium involves an inhibitory effect that prevents or at least slows DNA damage

Studies on the effect of Cnidium monnieri in kidney yang deficient rats indicate that the coumarins in Cnidium protect and strengthen the kidneys.

In China Cnidium is considered a warming tonic herb gently strengthening the entire body by restoring body functions and promoting well-being and vigour.

Cnidium may increase energy levels and lower anxiety promoting deeper relaxation this may account for increased libido effecting both genders.  It also increases nitric oxide release stimulating a chemical reaction producing a substance that relaxes the genital area in both genders enlarging the penis and clitoris. It could assist with frigidity and female sterility.  (nitric oxide assists with stronger, longer lasting erections) stimulating a chemical reaction producing a substance that relaxes the genital area and promotes an erection )

It is stated that Cnidium has a similar effect to sex hormones, extending copulation, increasing the weight of the prostate gland, testicle, uterus and ovary and counteracting premature ejaculation.

Cnidium assists with erectile dysfunction by relaxing the chambers of the penis that fill with blood during an erection (the corpus cavernosa) allowing blood to flow supporting an erection.
