Part used: The Fruit - I use the wole lemon when I make tinctures, skin and pulp.

Uses : Lemon has an alkalising effect on the body, so in combination with Meadowsweet will help reduce overacidity in the stomach. It also acts as a tonic for the Liver and helps the pancreas. The bio flavonoids help to strengthen the capiliaries and viens and so it is useful in treating varicose veins. It is cooling to the system so is useful in Pitta conditions which are any inflammatory states. A combination of Lemon, Hibiscus Flowers, Rose petal and Chickweed tinctures is good inflammatory skin conditions.
The antiseptic property of the volatile oil and its bactericidal effects are also useful in the treatment of many disease states affecting the body.It helps treat arteriosclerosis and helps break down fat in the body.The Vitamin C in Lemon is useful in aiding the bodys resistance to viruses and I use it for colds and flus .
Lemon juice solutions have been shown to immobilize sperm in the laboratory.
