Constituents:

Essential oil (.5 - 1 %) containing thymol, alpha-coaene, 8-carinene, clamene, 1,8 cineole, alpha and beta pinenes and calamenene, cineol, cymol, arbutin, cymene, cadinene, copaenen. Alkaloids, bittersubstance called damianin, flavonoids- 5-hydroxy -7,3',4- trimetoxyflavone, cynogenic glycosides, tannins, resin. the hydroquinone arbutin. tetraphylline B

Uses:

Damiana is an excellent nerve tonic and is also used as a male aphrodisiac. It is very useful for anxiety and depression. I mainly use it for males, though I do use it for women with low libido's In Ayurveda it is said to increase Pitta, balance Vatta and decrease Kapha. In combination with Oats, Lions Mane and Horsetail it helps strengthen the nervous system and repair nerve tissue damage. It can be smoked as a substitute for marijuana .

Majikal Uses:

It is used in Lust spells and burned to produce visions. The element is fire.
