Pain Mix - Ingredients List

California Poppy
- Eschscholizia californica : Anodyne, antispasmodic , diaphoretic , Diuretic . Helps to relieve pain and calm you down.

Corydalis - Corydalis ambigua : Analgesic, antispasmodic, sedative - One of the primary pain killing herbs used in TCM .

Meadow sweet - Filipendula ulmaria : Anti- inflammatory, Diaphoretic, Analgesic. The flower head contains salicylic acid, from which the drug aspirin can be synthesised. Unlike the extracted aspirin, which can cause gastric ulceration at high doses, the combination of constituents in meadowsweet act to protect the inner lining of the stomach and intestines whilst still providing the anti-inflammatory benefits of aspirin .

Nut Grass - Cyperus rotundus : Analgesic, Antispasmodic , Diaphoretic, diuretic.

Wild Lettuce - Lactuca virosa : Anodyne, Antispasmodic, Sedative . The sap of Wild Lettuce contains Lactucarium which has the effects of a mild opium , so is very sedative and calming. The effects of ingesting L. virosa in any form , are similar to opium, although no opiates are present in the plant. Effects are felt quickly but do not last long, between half an hour to a couple of hours. They dwindle slowly. The plant has been used as an anesthetic and a sleep aid, as well as recreationally.

White Willow Bark - Salix alba : Anodyne, Anti - Inflammatory, Diaphoretic, Febrifuge, Sedative. It contains salicin, which decomposes into salicylic acid (closely related to aspirin) in the human body. The active extract of the bark, called salicin, after the Latin name Salix, was isolated to its crystalline form in 1828 by Henri Leroux, a French pharmacist, and Raffaele Piria, an Italian chemist, who then succeeded in separating out the acid in its pure state. Salicylic acid, like aspirin, is a chemical derivative of salicin.
Pharamceutical Aspirin is a more concentrated source of the active chemicals in the herb, so don’t expect the herb to be as effective. However, aspirin upsets some people’s stomach, while white willow bark rarely causes this problem. White willow appears to be slower than aspirin to bring pain relief, but its effects may last longer.

NB. Do not use if taking opiate based medications, Warfarin or any blood thinning medications.
